Since the date at which it reached 100 cases of COVID-19, San Marino has suffered 33% greater mortality than would be expected for the same dates in normal times.
Kosovo, by comparison, has had an excess death rate of 30%.
San Marino's worst point of the pandemic so far was the month beginning on 30 November 2020, in which the country experienced 25 more deaths than would be expected for that month of the year.
